What are the best egg setting days acc to
Old farmers almanac for setting hens eggs in the months of Jan, Feb, March, and April of this Yr.? Thanks Gloria Jean
 
Does these dates really make a difference? I've heard of this and I'm curious.

Here are all the 2013 dates:


2013 Best Days to Set Eggs

  • January: 3, 4, 21, 22, 30, 31
  • February: 1, 18, 27, 28
  • March: 26, 27
  • April: 4, 22–24
  • May: 2, 3, 19–21, 29, 30
  • June: 17, 25–27
  • July: 23, 24
  • August: 19, 20, 2, 28
  • September: 15, 16, 24, 25
  • October: 13, 14, 21, 22
  • November: 17, 18
  • December: 14, 15, 24, 25
 
I am not sure but I thought I would try it this year. It never hurts to give some thing a try. Gloria Jean

There are so many chicken related myths and beliefs out there, it's interesting to find out how much is truth and how much is wishful thinking. I still want to try this "fat egg = hen, pointy egg = rooster" one. If that one's true my hens are laying mostly "hen" eggs!
