..... and the only one too. After month of on and off construction its finally done, just some minor cosmetic stuff left to do. It will not be used in FT Knox since they dont allow chickens. But George will retire in a few month once he gets done with his MEB ( he is looking at 60-70% disability) and then we can have all the critters we want.
The coop is a 3x4 raised off the ground with an (to be)attached 4x4 fully covered run. It will hold a few LF chickens this year or bantams next year. I build it all by myself with no help what so ever, never done roofing before, so i am pretty proud of the whole thing . Sorry for the mess in the coop , but my youngest and her friend are using it as a club house. All the nails and what ever sticks out will be cut off or covered. And if you wonder this is Army housing in the background. .

It's beautiful! The girls will love it!

Great job! It might be good to add a bit more ventilation--the cleanout door could have a window in it with hardware cloth to give you cross ventilation. Those tiny coops get very hot. It will be room for 3 full-size hens.

Yes there will be a hardware covered door for the summer. I just ran out of the hardware cloth, thats why the top and the one door are not done yet. Dont want to waste the 1/4 in stuff i have.

Oh and should we get chickens this year, like november or december we will get 4 girls and a roo for this coop for the winter only . Once its spring we will buy or build a 80-100sqf coop and get more chickens ducks,turkeys.... . In the spring this coop will house a few dutch, d'uccles or seramas, depending on what my oldest daughter wants when she joins 4H.
Do you guys think its reasonably raccoon proof, should i change the locks to something different?
