As some of you may have seen, I was juggling several balls regarding chickens.

I have three old girls, 6 five week Silkies, and picking up 7 day old Produciton Reds today.

I also was about to get Lavender Orpingtons (5 hens, 1 rooster) and I woke up this morning totally freaked out about trying to do so much at once with visions of someone getting pecked to death. (Maybe even ME cause the guy said the rooster was kind of mean)... SO..............

*breathes sigh of relief* The fella just called me, said a guy was there waving money at him for the Lavenders and was I coming for sure. YAY.. I seized the opportunity and said..

"well, I was.. but if you want to, go ahead and sell 'em')

YAY.. I feel sooooooooooooooooo much better.

Plus after all my reading on here.. it just wasn't worth the risk; not to mention the fact that those 6 birds would really be getting kind of crowded right now. (Or, at least when all the chicks grow up.)

I just want the little fluffy lives I've already committed to to be free, and healthy, and stress-less.

(And that include ME! :) LOL

SO... maybe in a few weeks when all the little chicks are settled down, or one of my hens goes broody, I can order some hatching eggs from a reputable LO breeder on BYC! :)

Thanks for listening. :):)

You have all the time in the world to get more chickens and different breeds of chickens. I'm glad you're trying to make it easier on yourself right now. It's so much more fun and pleasant when you aren't overwhelmed trying to house or combine different flocks/groups of chickens. If you get hatching eggs later, who knows what you may end up getting? There are more breeds and colors of chickens available every year, too.
