I got 15 chicks from Ideal and they all came healthy for now. I got 3 Buff Orp hens, 2 Blue Cochin hens, 1 Golden Laced Cochin hen, 1 New Hampshire roo, 1 Rhode Island Red roo, 2 barred rock hens, 1 black australorp hen, 2 white leghorn hens, and 2 easter egger hens. I'll post pictures later. Are the chicks suppose to be active right away, or should I give them time?

Hello,
I went and pick up my chicks from 2 different places and both times the chicks slept for the first day and then became active the next day.
I think because they were so scared about being pick-up/caught out of the brooder that they were exhausted.

mine are all active and eating right now, so I'm happy. Also, my mailman (who I know very well) thought they were hungry so he gave them some crackers. They ate all of them. Most of mine are all O.K. with being held.

I promised pictures and here they are

Buffs and Leghorns.

Those same ones and 1 Ameraucana and 1 either Australorp or Barred Rock.

Here is most of them (they just discovered their food and water).

Cute! And you picked a nice assortment.

Yeah, I picked lots of different colors so I have at least 2 of every color. I have Rhode Island Reds (brown), New Hampshires (orange), buff orps (yellow), white leghorns (white), australorps (black), Golden laced wyandotte (golden speckled), silver laced wyandotte (silver speckled), barred rock (barred), blue cochins (blue), and easter egger (random)
