--> My father said she caught her leg in the cage two weeks ago and her leg has been twisting daily and is now completely backwards! She is in great pain, we took her out and examined her legs, it can be put back in place but then immediately goes backwards again. She is the sweetest turkey and has a strong will to live. I think her leg was dislocated at the knee when she got it stuck in the cage. She is 2 1/2 months old.
Option one try to sprint the leg, which I am more worried if it is dislocated that will only make matter worst. If it is dislocated how do you put it back??
And second option if her leg cannot be fixed how do I put her down? What is the absolute most pain free way to kill her? I really want to try to save her leg but due to the extreme pain she is in...

PLease watch the videos so you can see the extent of how completely backwards her leg is.

I would take her to a Vet. An x-ray will show if it is dislocated and the Vet will know how to properly splint her leg. If for no other reason, a Vet cane euthanize her for you.

Only problem is the vet is $65 dollars x rays are 80-100 and euthanization is probably a lot on top of the other costs. I am a college student and I don't have enough for that cost. =(

Thats a disloaction for sure. If you want to try and splint it, you'll need to pull the leg straight out and rotate it back to the natural position and secure it, popcicle sticks work well, you might want to prepare them ahead of time by gluing a thin layer of cotton ball fluff or thin piece of cut towel to the side that will be against the skin. that will prevent sores. Youll need to splint it above and below the knee, tape it around. the bird will be straight legged. It'll be awkward. and she'll try to use her good leg. You can make a "chick chair" to keep her in for a week or two till it heals. it will prevent her from going anywher so you'll need food and water right there in her reach. the idea behind a chick chair is it suspends the bird off both legs so the bad one can heal :). a large tall plastic canister wide enough for the bird to "sit in" will be needed as well as a washcloth and some patience. cut little leg holes in the washcloth and mount it in the top of a canister. if it has a screw on lid, cut the center out of the lid and screw it down over the washcloth. make sure it sags in a bit to hold the baby like a bowl almost. it should be tall enough that the birds legs cant touch the bottom, or kick off of it when it sits in the washcloth. you set the bird in there with the legs through the leg holes and wait for the healing day. gotta keep food and water within beak reach.

When did this happen, today? Can you feel a fracture? Feel up and down her leg,any swelling? Is she dragging her leg? I would try and splint her leg, looks like a break to me. Leave splint on for 2 weeks, keep her quiet/calm,keep her separate so leg heals properly. You can give baby aspirin(81mg) for pain, dosage for chickens is 25mg per lb of body weight, not sure if dosage is the same for a turkey(may make her sleepy). Crush and put in water,or sprinkle over food. Make sure she is eating and drinking properly.
