So my two buff orpingtons were straight run, but I feather sexed them and in the bunch I got before these two it was 100% (3/4 Roos so went back for these two). All from same hatchery. Anyways, Twinkie is 17 weeks as of today and until 12 weeks, she was identical to the other one.
Lately she has started doing that loud squawking noise hens make after they lay an egg, but no eggs. Her tail was ripped out by a dog but hackle feathers are rounded. Follows my 16wo EE roo, who repeatedly tried to breed her when her comb first started to appear.
So anyways, is she close to laying or a late blooming roo? I just think with even more hen-like feathering than my obvious pullet, the egg song-like sounds, and my rooster trying to breed her when she was only 12wks old the odds are she's a girl? She has tiny legs compared to the other pullet as well.
