Hi all,
We decided to get chickens this year after moving into a *new house with a big enough yard. I built a coop sized for about 8 chickens and bought a variety of a dozen chicks assuming that we would end up with some roosters. They are about 12-14 weeks old and I haven't heard a crow yet... I should have written down the breeds when I bought them but figured I would remember, yep, I've forgotten some of them.
I was hoping that you all could help identify and sex them. Sorry about some of the pictures, I tried to get them to hold still but...
Chicken #1:
I have 2 of these and I can't tell them apart other than one is a little friendlier than the other. They are both definitely the friendliest and the largest of the bunch. They have feathered feet but couldn't find a similar looking chicken by google search. Brahma?
Chicken #2:
#1's doppelganger:
Chicken #3:
Pretty sure it is a Barred Rock? Any guesses on the sex?
Chicken #4
Also standing behind #3 in the previous picture. I think it is an ameraucana? Any guesses on the sex? Three of our chickens are a week or two younger than the rest after replacing a couple that we lost. This is one of the younger chickens.
Chicken #5:
We have three of these, I think they are Buff Orpingtons? This is another of the younger bunch.
Chicken #6:
Another Buff Orpington?
Chicken #7:
The last Buff Orpington. On second thought this may be the younger one, they are all pretty close to the same size now.
Chicken #8
Leghorn, I think?
Chicken #9:
No clue on the breed. We suspected that this one was a rooster since it was a chick because it was always more aggressive than the others. Maybe just the breed though? You can also see it's face in the picture of #5.
Chicken #10:
We have 2 of these, again I can't tell them apart and I'm not even sure that I got pictures of both... Not sure of the breed.
Chicken #11:
Doppelganger to 10.
Chicken #12:
No clue as to the breed. This is also one the the younger bunch. I can try to get a better picture if needed.
I appreciate any help!
Thanks!
