How do you get your once broody hen to lay again?

I have one EE who went broody. She stuck it out for 23 days. She has been back to normal now for about a month but still no eggs. She is eating and drinking and free-ranging with the rest of the crew. We checked all around incase she decided to lay some where other then the nesting boxes. No eggs around. Any suggestions?

A good way is to buy some Cayenne and mix it with corn meal. Place it in the pen wherever you feed your chicken and she should be laying again in no time. If you want to prevent her from going broody in the future try this trick. Once she goes into brooding. Take one of her eggs from under her and replace it with about two to three ice cubes per egg. Do this until all her eggs are gone. The ice will melt and therefore she will no longer have a need to sit on them. Hope this helped :)

You can also try putting a light in their hen house, leave a decoy/ wooden egg in her nesting box. This should help. Also check you do not have any rats or any such predators around this can stress out the flock and make them/ or her stop laying/

She'll probably be laying again soon the hormones will have settled down. If she got thin from not eating and drinking while brooding, I'd put some Chick-Saver vitamins and electrolytes to boost her system...but I bet she's about to start laying again.
