ok so i bought 3 sexlink hens and somebody some wheres along the line clipped there beaks
it looks healed over but now they are very deformed looking. will the beaks grow back eventually or is their condition now perm??
never had clipped beaks before.
 
If beaks have been severely clipped, they will not regrow fully. If only the end has been nipped off (so that the top and bottom parts are the same length), it will grow back.
 
one of my girls is butcherd. her bottom beck sticks out 1/4 inch past top and top looks trimed very close to nostrils. the other two arnt quite as bad. but bad enuf.
i will try to get them to let me take pics.. they are very standoffish and dont like being handled but are some egg machines!!

Sorry to spam your thread with a stupid question (as you can see, I'm a noob), why would you ever debeak a chicken? What purpose does it serve?

Commercial laying hens (factory birds) are kept in unbelievable close quarters and are de-beaked to keep them from pecking each other.
