The Quechua Thread

Quechua - Pronounced Kichwa or Kek wah depending if your describing a northern or southern dialect.

I personally recommend this thread to get a little history

I really love the breeds that fall into this category of land fowl.

Here is my hen. She lays a blue egg.

My cockerel I ended up not keeping. Too much yellow in his legs.

Here is my black skinned Olmec hen Oyster. In the front of the picture. She lays a grey blue egg.

I have hatched a few Quechua this year. Look forward to learning more about these birds. Here are a few...

While Quechuas may look like ordinary EE to the untrained eye, the Quechua is a native bird to south and central america(in Nicaragua we have plenty of them) ... actually the first EEs in the USA were called the Northen Quechuas,

I have some of these from Yashar and they are very interesting birds when you start reading about them, I was surprised on alot of the facts I have been discovering concerning them. I hope to have fertile eggs in the spring.

When you go to the bottom of the page and find the Reply box. Type you text in and then decide where you want you picture to appear. Look across the top bar of the Reply box. There are several boxes with symbols inside. You want the next to last. It has two square icons, a happy face emote icon and a quotation mark icon. The first square icon is photographs and the second is video. Click on the photograph icon and it will pop up a window that will let you upload your pictures from the desktop or a URL on line.
