My grandfather has had this rooster on the farm for 5 years now and I never could figure out what he is. 
Does anyone know what breed this rooster is? Pure or mixed?

I don't see any game, and definitely don't see any cochin. Could be Marans, although I'd expect feathered legs. My guess is Welsummer. They usually have more yellow legs, but this guy's could have just faded with age.

He used to have feathered feet. And most of his offspring have feathered legs.
I'm seeing French Black Copper Marans in your top roo.
