1" steel tube. Rough outside dimensions 12'6" x 11'6" or so. Warm weather coop coming in the northwest corner, working on it now.

Is for 4 birds... at least until chicken math comes into play.

Nice welding, it looks great

Where are you located? Was the metal cheaper than lumber? My husband just bought a TIG welder that I could put to good use!

Very nice. Are you going to share that garden (is it a garden?) with your chickens? Might be kinda mean to make them look at it but not eat it

We feed them stuff from the garden often, let em run in there very rarely though. They get all kinds of treats near every day so isn't totally cruel :p Yogurt, tuna, kitchen clippings, mom gives them the weeds from the gardens, and I've started a mealworm farm.

Couple miles south of Tucson AZ. The metal / lumber worked out almost the same cost so it only made sense to go steel. Last longer I'm hoping + the garden is already framed the same way, wanted to match it and make it one big unit.

Pics above were from the other day. Today I managed most of the warm weather coop and added the door. All thats really left is some paint, roof material for coop, then cover the whole frame with 1/2" hardware mesh.

Very nice, lucky chickens!

Bit of paint, roofing for the nest box and thats all thats left. They are moved in as of today though and seem happy enough. Much more space than before.
