I am involved in a small holding as well as having chickens in my
Backyard. In my backyard I have bantams, speckledys, Wyandottes, sussexs etc. The small holding is owned by me and some friends. It is joined on to a farm. We have chickens, ducks, turkeys, peafowl etc. hope you guys like me ;)

On the small holding we have hundreds of chickens. In my section, the hens I have are12 warrens, 16 speckledys, 14 light sussexs, 24 Sussex bantams, 52 proper bantams, mainly Japanese, 36 black Jersey Giants, 12 white jersey giants, 18 marans, 14 silkies, 50 welsummers, 16 broilers. I also have 3 cockerels in every breed. I breed my own chicks. I keep them in a large shed at the small holding. In there, There are currently over 300 chicks that are day olds, over 2000 that are between 2-4 weeks. Then severel thousand older ones. All of these chicks I hatch my self from my hens. I currently have over 20 broody hens. But the ones that are good layers I incubate their eggs. I incubate over 1000 eggs each week and I sell then within days. I also have 240 ducks, 52 peacocks, 190 peahens, and 4 ostriches. Also I have 27 turkey's. I got them last December just before Christmas. They were being bred for meat. But when I saw them they were cute and adorable. I had to save them from the farm so I offered the farmer more than double he would make for them. The female ones lay nice eggs too!

And by the way, the animals are looked after. I have 9 well trained staff who provide in the best way possible.

At the beginning of the year I was involved in a massive project. Me and over 50 other people bought hundreds of ex battery hens from a local battery farm. We spent a month looking after them and caring for them. They were in very bad condition. No feathers, no beaks, were ill and just were miserable. But we cared for them day in day out. After a month we did a big sale and sold them for very little. All of the money went to a battery hen foundation trying to stop it happening. We also got over 5000 eggs which were sold to help the charity. Me and they people who helped are very proud and we are going to do it again in a few months but with more people, more hens and more charity's.

I also recently bought more hens. They're staying at my friends farm at the moment until I can house them properly. There are 24 araucana. 24 black silkies, 24 broiler bantams, 24 Wyandottes, 24 'typical' brown chickens and 24 blue tailed yellow white japanese bantams
