I'll be posting lots of pictures throughout my feed... this is my first time on BYC.

Hi. We just finished purchasing the last of our flock of 7. We're second time owners. Our first flock of 4 ended up getting attacked. Sadly something got into our yard and took them away. We're still grieving, but what better way to help than new ducklings?!?
Now we have 4 peakings (Frank, bean,Elsa and Anna ). The oldest (f&b) are about 3 weeks old, Elsa and Anna are a week old. We and 3 unknown species, they're 3-4 days old. .(Lamont, GreyFeather, amd Roushe) If you have any suggestions on what breed they may be please advise(See pictures below ) two of the peaking belong to our neighbors they are about a week old today. (Elsa and Anna,)

I guess other than introducing myself, and showing off the flock- I was wondering what you all think about ours being outside in their duck house in this spring weather. (We live in Md doesn't get below 50) keep in mind the home has 2 partitions. The "indoor section (a very large broader) is about 4x4 insulated with this stuff called RMAX. and has a heat lamp. That area has a door that can be blocked off. The "outdoor" is about 6x4 and enclosed with chicken wire. This also has a removable door. The whole thing is reinforced with 2x4's.
Essentially, the ducks have a 12x12 indoor/outdoor coop. Along with the rest of our fenced in yard. About a quarter acre.
As of now, we only put the oldest ones(frank and bean) outside (inside) overnight. We open it and let them out at about 9 or 10 when it's warmer. of course Frank and Bean come inside through the day, as they have imprinted on us.
We had them inside and in our bed until three days ago. They've since been replaced by the three youngest. Lamont, GreyFeather and Roushe. We use pee pads, clean up after every poo and they of course have lots of water and feed.

Another thing - our two oldest; Frank and Bean. Well they don't seem quite fond of the middle chicks, Elsa and Anna. (Remember they're about a two weeks apart)

OK I'm done rambling now. Sorry - first time posting and new mom, I'm excited!

Your ducklings are adorable. I don't know anything about ducks but, if you go to "Other Backyard Poultry" forum above, you will find duck threads to post on. The duck folks can give much advice about raising them. BTW Welcome to Backyard Chickens.

glad you have joined us. Great photos, all are such cuties.

So sorry about your loss and wish you better luck with the new ones.

I'm another just chicken person, but encourage you to take the above advice to visit and post in the duck forums.
