    Using broiler chickens as egg laying chickens and letting their genes mix in a flock of egg chickens?

    I posted this on the breeds form but didn't get a response. I wonder if it was better here since the whole point is about mutts rather than purebreds. I know Big Red broilers (Murray's Hatchery) are not a true breed, and at the moment we have a motley Crew of heritage chickens that are mixed...
