breeding geese

i have a gander, not much info on him but i was told he was probably at least 17 when i got him, ive had him for over 2 years now. was at a poultry swap today and saw a goose so i bought her for him. i know i shouldnt expect goslings at his age but is there any chance? both are pure african...
