    Alfalfa pellets as bedding?

    Currently using pine, but it is so messy and smelly and makes me sneeze. I was thinking about pine pellets but worried they would eat it (they are about 3 weeks old). Anyone use alfalfa pellets? To my knowledge, that is safe to ingest.

    Pine Shaving for Chicks- is it really a problem?

    I have chicks hatching this week. In the past, I always got day old chicks and raised them in a brooder. This time, a Black Australorp is doing the work for me! I prefer pine shavings in the coop, but I know it isn't recommended b/c the chicks might try to eat it. My question... has anyone...
