    Sapphire Gem…cockerel?

    Hello! I have a 3 week old Sapphire Gem chick from Rural King and from what I understand, Sapphire Gems are sex-linked and males have a spot on the back of their head. This Gem has no spot on the back of the head…but look at the comb already coming in! Could this be a male?

    Are sapphire splash Roosters barred?

    I’m not sure how the genetics work with sapphire gems and splashes but I know that the gem males are barred is it the same with splashes?     Sapphire gem breeding

    Hello, I have a question about breeding sapphire gems, (290 eggs/year?) I know they won't breed true to the colors and I'll get a variation of blue splash and white spotted but will the egg production still be the same in the second and third Gen?
