I had recently acquired a pair of coturni quail and was super excited about hatching out their eggs.
I was waiting for the incubator to come in the mail but due to the rona everything was delayed so my dad suggested that the heat from the fridge should suffice so we tried it.
After...
HELP! My mama duck accidently bit the top off of this egg, I don't know if what I see here is normal or what to do. I don't want it to die, please help me.
I started incubation last Sunday and I started out with the recommended temperature (99.5) l’m using the 9200 Little Giant incubator, I had it at that temperature for around 2 days. Then I started searching up the ideal temperature for a still air incubator, I read that some ideal temperatures...
I got a humidity gage for my duck eggs I’m hatching and the humidity is to high and then it goes to low and I can’t figure it out! My eggs are under a broody chicken right now but she keeps moving to a different nest!
Thank you!

My boyfriend's parents have 3 hens and 1 has been broody for maybe a month or so now. They said I can get some eggs for her, and the types of eggs we're looking for is geese, guineas, chickens, pheasants, quail, or peafowl eggs that are hatching eggs for the broody mama. :)
Hi All,
We recently noticed our Aylesbury duck was sitting on eggs and had built herself a little nest. After a while we decided to get some fertile eggs for her to sit on, so we got 4 yesterday (ive been told they are Indian runner and Indian runner/mallard cross, two of each) and went to put...
I’m currently incubating 2 duck eggs Wednesday was hatch date and so far all there doing is just shaking it’s been about 60 hours and not really any progress, I kinda feel like they might not be able to hatch, should I be worried?
I think I did well with these! I had 9 eggs, 2 Barred rock/Plymouth rock mixed and 7 RIR/Leghorn/Plymouth rock/Barred Rock mix. Out of those 9 I had 5 hatch!! One just finished today so I have no pics of it until it fluffs up.

Hey! I was wondering if people would share their do's and dont's of hatching. It's my second time and I'm wondering what everybody else's experiences were/are. Last time I hatched went well. Two roos and five hens. Had about thirty eggs. Not all were fertilized though. Just wanted to know what...
Chicks that are hatched inside an incubator must stay inside the incubator for a couple of days. Don’t get too excited to take them out. Give them some time to realize that they are already hatchlings and have to cope with their environment. Birds like quails, pheasants and chickens can survive...

How long can they be stored...
We are at day 16. This embryo was moving in the egg, but when I candled day 14 no movement. I traced the dark not moving spot in the egg on she'll with a pencil. It did not move or grow. The blood ring looked darker today
As I am trying to learn, I opened the egg the embryo was dead but I am...
Hello,
I am new to the chicken world as we got our first chicken a year ago. We have 6 hens and no roos. I have a broody hen and 'adopted' 5 fertilized eggs from a friend. I placed them under my broody hen and she has been diligently sitting on them. They are due to hatch on July 21st. I...
