Still trying to figure out what these chicks are. I bought them from TSC 8/26, so 6.5 weeks ago. They had been picked at and were separated from the others. I’m not sure how old they are but they had started to get little wings when I got them. They were mostly still fuzz. The others are RIR and Australorp pullets. Any help on age, breed and gender would be appreciated. They’re flights but super sweet and very interested in what I’m doing. The 1st 3 pics are Nugget. The 2nd 3 are Drummy. Thanks!

All birds pictured appear to be production reds, or similar.
Do you have pics from when you first got them? That will help best determining current age.

I'm going to guess they're shy of two weeks in that pic. So I'd guess them to be about 8 weeks now... That said, those combs look awefully red, and the same with the wattles. In my experience with single combed breeds, the pullets' combs and wattles tended to stay small and orangy pink until they were about 13-14 weeks old and then start growing in preparation for adulthood.

can you revisit in a week or two? I don't like saying that they both look cockerelish to me.

Ok thank you. I figured Nugget might be but I’m hoping both aren’t. We have to rehire them if they are. This county doesn’t allow roosters. The next one over does.

Give it a little more time. If they're not crowing yet, I'd wait a few more weeks to be certain.

No crowing. Just lots of clucking when we play with them. They’re very social.

Updated pictures today of Nugget and Drummy. We’ve had them 9 weeks. Assume they were about 2 weeks old when we got them but I have no idea. Lots of feather loss right now. The coop is full.
