Info:
  • I wanted geese. My husband was on the fence about adding geese to the farm.
  • Tractor Supply randomly had “assorted geese” and I won rock paper scissors, so we got three geese.
  • We love the geese. They’re everything I hoped and more.
  • I looked up what Tractor Supply’s assorted geese typically are and have come to the conclusion they are likely African geese.

What I want to know:
  • Are they indeed African geese?
  • Are they geese or ganders? (They all seem to sound the same, have the same posture, and look identical so I’m figuring they are either all males or all females… with my luck probably all males🤦‍♀️)
  • If they are all ganders - Will they continue to get along as they age?

They do look like African. It's hard to tell from your video, do any have a longer neck? That's one sign I look for, but it's isn't always easy to see until they mature fully. My gander revealed himself by trying his hand at that loud honk noise only the males make.

Here's a video that may help,

My guess is one female and 2 males, but I'm not positive.

I'll just keep waiting on them to mature a bit more. For now they're all quite happy together. I'm pretty convinced they're either all 3 girls or boys based on how they all have the same build and posture. We shall see...

I think if they are 3 males they will get along as there's no females to fight over.
