Hi guys,
Opinions please.....7 and a half week old Gold Laced Orp and Light Brahma. Both have small or barely there light combs, however I do not have another of same breed and age to compare with. I know these can be difficult breeds to sex but I would ❤️ to know your opinions!

I think they likely both be pullets, but first one does resemble a cockerel a bit. can I see a photo of their wings spread out?

Oh my word, that would be perfect. I really hope so. I know you obviously can't be sure at this age, I don't suppose any of you want to state how sure you are, lol. The reason I ask is that they are being dna tested this week, thus I will be able to upload a feather pic tomorrow but by early next week I will be able to update with definite answer if anyone is interested. Xx

For me I'm quite confident both are pullets.
Can't wait to see the DNA results!

I'd say I'm about 90% sure those are females for 8 weeks old. Below is my cockerel chick at 8 weeks. Admittedly he's clearly a boy and some birds can hide it better than others but I think you have two girls 🙂

Oh lord, I know brahma especially can be slow to feather, however in comparison that is definitely a little boy isn't it. I am going to do my best to keep a cockerel, however I live in a semi rural area not completely rural so we will see how it goes. However, I have 3 more chicks and 2 of them are olive eggers and while I was told that they were not sex linked, one was born with a clear head spot and one was not and the one with the heads pot now seems to have a bit more comb etc. I hope you can see that at birth 1 had a clear head spot and 1 did not. Apparently, dad is Welsummer and mum is potentially legbar, legbar hybrid, welsummer hybrid or multi breed hybrid (So basically anything). I will upload some pics now shortly (6 weeks). Thus, if I had ended up with only one cockerel, that would be perfect. Thanks so much xx
