Hi so I have noticed a hen of ours losing a lot of weight. I'm not sure why this is as I am nee to having chickens. She will be a year old in July and her breed is an olive egger. I'm assuming she has stopped laying eggs because of this as we are getting less now. Today, I took her with me and feed her some normal feed and i just sprayed it with water because I read they like that. She ate for about ten minutes and then I put her back into the flock. She doesn't really seem lethargic, just a little bit weaker because of the weight loss. I am going to continue to take her out and feed her in case she isn't eating otherwise, but can anyone help me find out the issue? I haven't seen her poop yet so I can't tell if there is a problem there. Any help is appreciated. Please help me get this girls weight back up!

I'm suspecting a worm overload.

I have the same thing going on with one of mine. Her keel bone is quite prominent, and she is lighter than my other girls. Think I'll worm them all. Thanks for the post. Mine are 1 y.o. in late July.

This is very late but we dewormed them and she has started to gain her weight back! She laid her first egg since she's been sick and she is all good!
