They got me again..... sneaky sneaky sneaky people...... i had to run to town to get a couple of light switches to use for the new lighting I am adding in my shop.... the little girl who works there saw me and came over and said... "Hey we got new baby chicks in this morning, you should come see them"..... Somehow miraculously 6 Bantam chicks put shavings in one of those little boxes and managed to find their way to my truck. Didnt even know they were in the truck till I got home and parked in the barn.... I felt sorry for them so I put them in the brooder with a couple more Bantam chicks that did the same thing last week... Beware people chicks at Tractor Supply are sneaky creatures....

I can just hear the message over the intercommm right now.....Attention Tractor Supply associates the 6'5 gentlemen in the white dually just pulled up... AND HIS WIFE IS NOT WITH HIM !!!! PLACES EVERYONE IMPULSE CHICKEN BUY IN 3...2...1

I was in Rural King and said randomly to the cashier that it was strange how they make you buy 6 ducklings when they only have 4 left!!! He told me that you only have to buy two!!! I went on outside and I could hear the little stinkers (literally!!!) calling to me while I was sitting in my car!!! Of course I had to answer them. I went back in and they were Khaki Campbell I was told so they hopped into my cart and came home with me in February!!!! I had them in my living room in a swimming pool with a six foot table holding it up for a total of five weeks!! It was too cold in Ohio to move them outside. What was I thinking??? I am lucky I am still married, lol. I think I have a hen and a drake. They have blue spectrum on their wings though and I can't do pictures. I think that I was having a brain cloud to do it this time of year.

I will show this to my husband as a proof that i am beginner in this game and not the sneaky sneaky no good ……… ( Friday afternoon he walks into garage to 10 new baby chicks in brooder that I emptied and moved chicks outdoors …… well…… he asked me when did I bring them home and I pulled that , whaaat, that old ~~~ I have that for years)

Yeah, TSC hardly has any whenever I go. They sell out in a few hours. Plus, me knowing I have 25 babies coming in a few weeks keeps me from buying…and they don’t have the breeds I want. I have a friend who bought some for a dollar (ones they had to move). If I had that offered to me I can’t say that I would refuse….

Our TSC had clean bedding on all of the chicks and ducklings that I saw this past weekend and plenty of food and water. They had someone checking on them regularly and they all seemed to be just fine. I am sorry that this incident happened but I do not think that it applies to all of their stores. They got rid of the shelving units that they had a couple of years ago because of too many deaths and now have them back in the big metal water tanks with plenty of heat and food and water.
