🥲 what eats a month old chick and only leaves legs?

a busy facility
What exactly does this mean?
Were chicks in a secure enclosure?

My first thought is a rat.

Might help to know......
Where in this world are you located?
Climate, and time of year, is almost always a factor.
Please add your general geographical location to your profile.
It's easy to do, and then it's always there!

We are on the west coast of bc near the us border. We are a large farm in the middle of summer camps with kids volunteers and people everywhere- baby was killed between 9 am and 1 pm!!!

What does the chicks enclosure look like...or were they free ranging??

No matter the circumstances my opinion is... It's always raccoons, the husband or the butler

Our birds are enclosed in a large coop with enclosed outdoor run that has a predator proof netting roof.

Yes they were in the coop… I totally don’t get it and am worried about losing more of my babies

What kind of netting and run walls...material and hole size.
Pics would help immensely here.

I would be concerned too.
Can you put a trail cam in the run?
No feathers just the feet - inside an enclosed run. That is hard for me to reconcile- I’d lock the doors in case it’s a teen or something. All the animals I’d think of should have left evidence of entry.
