My chicken is as wild as it gets. Her nest is in a small area in bamboo, and plenty of leaves that she has used to mold her nest. However (to my surprise), the neighbour has a cat, and such cat is apparently fond of eggs. It has eaten a total of 14!

Do you know of a good way to deter cats besides chasing them? I don´t like the sound systems either, those drive me crazy.

If your hen is a true broody I would highly advise moving her...nest and all...back to the coop area. Put her in a dog crate or sick pen area. Always 'move' a broody and the nest at NIGHT. Wear long sleeves and gloves (you'll understand why when you move her!

) Oh, she'll put up a terrible fuss, hiss and bwak at you to high heaven, but you need to pick up the ENTIRE nest eggs and all to the new location...she'll definitely be following you! Make sure she has her own water and feed close by. Observe her for a while afterwards to make sure she settles in.

Sounds like you have a great broody on your hands...such a delight to let the mama chicken hatch her own eggs...no fuss/muss for us!! Best of luck to you, wishing you well...
