*Already posted my dilemma in the forum Incubation & Hatching.*

I need some advice...
Started out like any other broody hen on a nest. Only she won't raise them. Originally had 6 eggs, and 3 have died. This being my first time ever hatching chicks,I'm just glad I'm able to get some experience before we go at again in spring.
Just checked on egg that's piping, and no progress from just one little chip.
I'm just unsure on what to do?
Yesterday I took an egg that was piping, too soon, and it killed it. But if I leave it, my hen is going to kill it or if she doesn't then the ants will!
How I was able to save one chicks life makes this seem unbelievable. I mean, I guess it was perfect timing or something.
Please, if anyone has some advice on what I should do, that would be helpful.
(I don't have an incubator, but my one chick is 2 days old now and is doing fine with a heat lamp)

P.S.
Oh yea, new here :)

I've never incubated eggs before but I hope you get the information you need on the Incubating & Hatching forum. Have you looked through the articles on hatching in the Learning Center? There may be something there that can reassure you.

Good luck with the hatch!
