1 day old chick cant balance, doesnt eat and has other problems

I would try to find chicks that are closer to her age, within a week. They grow fast, so 5 week olds will be substantially larger. Have you given it a mirror? That makes a big difference sometimes.

Yep ive given her a mirror and she has looked at it a few times but she never really leaves her heat plate

They spend a lot of time under the heat plate at first, as they get older they spend more time out, if the room they are in is warmer they may spend more time out from under. I would guess that being alone makes it unsure and more likely to stay under. When they are in a group they tend to follow the group. Some birds do better than others at being alone, some don't do well at all.

Update he drank water for the first time by himself!! For 2 days ive been force feeding him pellets and watering, now hes taken a few sips of water by himself. Ive also seen him pecking food but no idea if hes eating it so ill check his crop soon Thanks for the help everyone

Mini update, Checked crop and hes not eating so still feeding by hand. But he does leave his brooder plate and drinks water by himself now.
