1-day old chick, eyes stuck shut

This chick was born with most of it's membrane stuck to it. After it dried and it's wings were stuck, I decided to help it out and gave it a wrm bath and got all the membrane off, minus what was on it's head. I was afraid of drowning it. Now it cant open it's eyes, the rest of it fluffed out but the head. How can I safely help??

I would take a wet cotton ball get it wet with warm water, and wet a q-tip. gently rub the q-tip on the eyes, pulling them gently open. You can get them wet, just make sure you wipe them off and keep them in a washcloth. Don't keep them from the heat too long, though.
