I’m a new hatcher and I had a hatching of RIR in my 360 yesterday. When taking them out this morning, I found one with a splay leg and a scabbed area at the umbilical area. I secured the legs to attempt to correct the leg and have been syringe feeding water with nutri-drench about every hour. Chick has no interest in food and doesn’t drink without my prodding. I haven’t seen output. I think the abdomen might be distended but it’s soft. The chick is alert and doesn’t seem uncomfortable. Anyone have any insight as to what is going on, what else I can do to help this chick?
