I have been keeping my rollers in a cage in the coop. I figured I would coop them up in there for now at night and let them fly the run during the day. Today was the first day I let them fly about in the run of the coop. Well one ended up getting out, so I rushed and put the other 3 back into the cage, and now my hearts about breaks every time I see the escape fly in a diffrant dirrection other than the coop.

He seems so lost and scared. Whats the chances he will come back?? I have the coop door open right now... I am staying inside so not to scare him.

What happens the first time you fly pigeons???

He is sticking around so I feel better. He dissapears for awhile and then I will seem him again. He seems to be getting bolder, but hasn't come down to the coop. I went ahead and took one of the other pigeons out of the cage with the door open. But he dosen't want to get too far from the cage.

I'm going to have a heart attack when I fly them on purpose for the first time....

Place the other in the cage in the run. Place feed in the run, he should return if he see the others. Pigeon like to stay in flocks.

We had two still in the cage from the sale.... the wretched goat knocked the cage over and the pigeons got loose. They just added themselves to our flock. I was worried they might take off, but they were content with the others.

I opened the cage door and let the pigeon back in before I went to work. When I got home from work the escape was in the coop.

Thanks everyone...

I was afraid he would take off with some wild pigeons.
