Hello everyone! I joined this website to help my family out to find new homes for our roosters. It is very hard to find homes for roosters in N.J. We had chickens for many years here in NJ, and no one has ever complained about them up until one neighbor. The town came to our house, and we have no choice but to give up our roosters. We have an 1 Well Summer rooster, 1 spitz hobin rooster, and 8 silkie roosters. The spitz hobin and summer rooster are all very friendly, and it is so sad we have to give them up. They are young adults. The silkie roosters are friendly, but an little fiesty. Please if anyone can take an rooster, that would be helpful! We have an letter from the town and must get rid of them by May 7th, and hoping to get an extension for them. We are located in Livingston, NJ. Please respond to the forum if interested, I will give you by contact info then.

you have to get rid of them or its just a noise thing? maybe look into getting a crow collar if its about noise. Also make an ad on craigslist too, I had luck getting rid of my rooster there

Thank you. And yeah it was the noise. An neighbor complained to the town instead of just talking to us first. We had no issues the last multiple years with roosters up until one neighbor. We even reduced the noise and spoke to the neighbor who was fine when we moved him up more to our house, but the town is still making us rid of all of them and have an date! And yes I was thinking Craigslist’s too BUT I have had people on that website who were very dishonest..one person said he wanted it as an pet but then I found out he most likely wanted it for dinner! Anyways I actually found someone on here already who is so kind and going to take them in! So luckily for us we found someone! They live an few hours away but meeting half way is worth it so they can have good home! Thank you though for replying
