My one week old barred rock chick has a swollen eye that is shut but the other is fine. She has lost interest in activities and is sleepy. I’m not sure what to do yet and would love advice. I’m going to post a few pictures as well. As you can see one is open and the other is shut 😢 please help. None of my other chicks have this.

Ok to add on now that I’m looking at her closely the other eye seems to be swollen as well. Any suggestions on what could help her?

Its likely a birth defect. What is their set up and diet?
I’m not sure it’s a birth defect it just started. I was able to open up the eye with some warm water on a qtip and she’s able to open it by herself. I did order some terramycin and it will be here tomorrow.

Flush her eyes with saline, then put a dot of Terramycin in each eye. Do this a couple of times a day.
Some say that I should separate her from the rest of the flock, but I’m not sure I want to because they’re still so young and enjoy each others warmth. But I was curious if this is something you would suggest doing?

The only reason I'd separate her is if she's being trampled/injured or picked at by the others. If she's able to interact with the other chicks and eat/drink, then I'd leave her in the brooder and monitor her closely.
