We recently got 6 Narragansett/Bronze heritage crosses and they turned on week old today.
We are keeping them on pine shaving substrates, and I suspect one of the chicks swallowed a shaving or two.
Every few minutes she'll make strange gagging motions like she's trying to cough something up, but it doesn't keep her from eating and she peeps normally, so It isn't obstructing her airway. I can't seem to attach a 2 second video clip, but she's rolling her neck back and forth (gagging) a few times before moving on.
Will she handle this herself, or should I be worried? Thanks.
