Hey everyone,
We live in keystone heights and have 7 chickens. I ended up with two coops because we goat them at different time of the year. I don’t know the exact breeds, I think we have 4 Easter eggers, 2 road islanders, and a small white one that i don’t know.
We let them out every morning when we go to work and they free roam all day. They are waiting at their coops for their treat when the sun gets low.
We love our chickens and want more. My coop sizes are 12x22’ and 6 x 12’. I know I need to redo my laying boxes and probably other stuff too.
Are there any classes in the local area?

Here are some pics of our coops. Any help is appreciated.

Hello and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.
Your white hen appears to be a White Leghorn.
If what you have posted is the coop, you may want to strongly reconsider the chicken wire as all it is really good for is keeping the chickens in. Most any predator can tear it open and get at the chickens.
You should also try to lower the nest boxes. They are very high and likely to get used for sleeping and therefore get messed in overnight leaving an unpalatable receptacle for your fresh eggs.

Thank you for the info. I want to build some nesting boxes for all of the chickens in this one coop. The I have the sheet metal buried a foot in the ground to keep animals out. And I have hardware cloth with the chicken wire on the lowest part. The only issue I have had is a squirrel and a red cardinal. Apparently they are the chickens friends. I want to get a rooster but can’t seem to find where to buy one
How many chickens could I have in a 12’x20’ coop?

7 chickens could get by with 1 nest box. They wouldn't need more than 2. You really only need 1 nest box for every 5 hens.

You still need to secure the areas covered only with chicken wire. Critters climb.

I would think that if you want this structure to be a permanent coop you would want to add more solid walls with windows in them to block rain/snow and wind for roosting during inclement weather and winter. If you don't have a secure run for them to lock them up when you need to due to predation or poor weather, I would limit the number of birds to 24.

You would also want to rethink the roost bar situation.
