1 Year Old Wyandotte Can't Hold her head up suddenly- UPDATED with happy ending šŸ˜

Oh, Iā€™m so happy to hear that she is eating on her own. Thank you for the update. Is she standing any now? Please keep us posted on how how she gets along.
She just started to stand and use her left foot again. She also found her voice and is very charming šŸ˜

Here is a video from today as she went to work with me lol

Oh...and for those following along we are STILL pending the zinc results!!

Do you have a wildlife vet, exotic vet or bird specialist any where near you? This is accelerating so quickly I donā€™t know if you have time to solicit advice from our online group. Please keep us posted.
We are fortunate to have a vet that can treat them nearby! Penny is getting better!

Penny is standing and starting to walk. Eating normally, would like her to drink more but it's still great progress for now. The vet called and she has elevated levels of zinc. Vet recommended medication but does not have on hand so she is locating and we are seeing how she continues to progress. She is pooping regularly and normal. She is now off the metacam anti inflammatory and we are continuing the following daily:

1/3 b complex
1 vitamin e 400 iu
2 ml poultry cel
Feed and water regularly
With increased syringed of plain water

Will keep you all posted!

I'm glad she had a wonderful day!
Baby steps! :fl
Very much so baby steps, we are in no rush for her recovery so as long as she continues to improve and show progress we are happy. If she is content and can live a normal chicken life with the flock after her recovery we will be thrilled.

I'm glad Penny is doing better; it's obvious from her latest video that this saga hit her hard. Did you vet speculate as to what may have caused the elevated zinc levels? Are you familiar with the term "hardware disease"?
