Yesterday I got a call from a distant Aunt who has a small farm. She recently got chicks from a friend but didn't want them all, if I showed up that night I could pick 10 of them for FREE. Oh and to make it even more perfect, they are 90% female. You betcha I started the truck and was there in minutes!
Now for the even more fun part! It's been many, many years since I've had chickens, any idea what breeds? I'm sure I'll be able to figure it out once they're older, but it would be cool to know now! The only info she had was that they are a variety of laying breeds.

They aren't the best of pictures, but I can get better of each of them if anyone wants!

Don't look gift chickens in the mouth (no teeth anyway) How old are they? You might want to have them in pairs? I mean have like colors together in photos - makes it easier to decide breeds. And also any early gender differences. Plus which, it is much less
confusing than seeing 10 chicks lumped together, with them facing different directions etc.

6-8 weeks of age would be more telling.

Alright, better pictures!
They are supposed to be about a week old possibly older.
