So.... 3 of the Wyandottes have lost their tail feathers. Their seems to be an increase of feathers in the coop and pen(see photo)

but they all still look very healthy. Our neighbors have chickens as well and they looked horrible...it was an obvious molt. My young Americana's that started laying about 1 month ago have become broody...we discouraged it and were able to break them of it but now they have also completely stopped laying as well. It's as if they have all gone on strike. Last fall up until December was a guarantee of 3 eggs/day...now nothing. I have read the forums and am worried as it can take anywhere from 2-12 weeks for the molt to be complete. It just doesn't make sense as the egg numbers dropped in March and here it is almost September.

I had to buy eggs today!!!
