10 week chicks

Can anyone provide a detailed way mixing chicks (4) with laying hens (7)? The hens are attacking the babies and I have to separate then every time, placing the chicks back in a cage inside the coop. I have tried to mix for about 5 days and they continue to sit on them and peck their necks. There is plenty of space, inside and out, so that is not the issue. Thank you for any advice to help them get along.

Have you tried keeping them on either side of a fence fir a week or two?

I had mine in a predator proof cage in the big girls run for a few weeks. When I let them out they still got a few bonks on the head, but only at feeding time.
