Hi all. I'm looking for advice. We have this 11 week old splash silke that is failing to thrive and idk what else to do. We first noticed it about a month ago we started adding save a chick to its water and nothing is helping. We had it and its hatch mates in the brooder and its hatch mates have all moved to the juvenile pen but it remained in the brooder with the smaller chicks and the ones we've recently hatched. I checked on it today and noticed a few bald spots so we moved it inside the house to see if that helps. I'm assuming the others are picking at it.
We decided a few weeks ago that we would do what we can but ultimately let nature take its course but it still lives. TBH, I thought it would have died weeks ago. That might sound harsh but I know with chick's that fail to thrive that a lot of times there's not much you can do.
So my question is, do I continue to do what I can? Let nature take its course? Or do I cull it because it is suffering?
There are days it behaves like a normal chicken. Then there are days it just lays. It breaths very deeply (if that makes sense.)
Thanks in advance. I added a picture of its hatch mate for comparison.
