So far this little guy is doing "ok", out of 12 bantam SS Ham eggs, 2 hatched. First chick was born with curled up toes and legs completely out to the side and had no way to walk or even stand. 2nd chick appeared to be 'normal' first day or two, then I noticed it would stand in corner of brooder all alone. I dipped beak into some water and it drank heavily, when it was done I set it by feed dish and dipped its little face in the feed, with no response. About day 4 I realized this baby couldnt see, at all! It cant even see shadows, but responds to my voice and hauls booty toward me because I help it eat/drink. I need to know if any of you here have ever had, delt with, or raised successfully, a blind bird?? I'm hand feeding/watering it every 2hrs and am soooo sleep deprived it's pathetic. I would DEEPLY appreciate any help, advice, suggestions, ect. I'm desperate at this point. Thanks in advance for any replies.

first thing to remember, he will adjust to no sight, if the food and water are in the same place all the time, one concern would be his safety, so any other chicks don''t walk over him you may need to put a barrier between him and them, so he can hear them but be safe. Give him a stuffed animal to snuggle with. he will learn where the food and water is. As far as feeding, in wildlife rehab we were taught baby birds moms don't feed them after dark, so i'm not sure if its that way with chickens, but you should be able to leave him to sleep at nite. Here is a whole bunch of threads on raising blind chicks
