100 chickens or 1 horse (for free)

as a barrel racer and chicken lover its a hard decision. what do yall think? id love to here yalls reasons as well!

We don't have enough room for a horse (2.5 acres), but we do have room for 100 chickens!

Besides, the farmer across the road has horses and said I could come ride any time I want. Have I? Nope, lol.

Chickens. sure, 100 chickens would be expensive to keep, but cheaper than a horse.

Plus I've ridden a horse exactly 3 times in my life, never again.
Nothing bad happened BTW. I just don't want to be moving at that height at any speed. I'm just plain not a horse girl

100 chickens for sure, like the return I get when I get eggs. We had horses when I was a young boy, guess who got to be the dummy that got on the horse for the1st time after they were broke with just the saddle.

A good horse is the best friend a person could ever have. So that's my choice.

Chickens are great. But they aren't really friends, even if they're friendly and even when we love them.

Funny thing about this thread is, chickens are my medicine for not having a horse. When my best friend passed I knew it would be a decade or so before my heart could take on another. And I want to own good land first.
Chickens give me something farmy to do while waiting. And I can raise lots of babies without getting my heart too twisted up in their well-being... although honestly I worry more than I should... but it's nothing compared to raising foals.
