I came home to find out my temperater went up to 106 !!! I really dont know how long it stay that way !! I am now on ten day incubating . Is it over ?? waaaa !!!

Why do you need a water wiggler? And how do you determine the internal egg temp?

Its a homemade incubator with cup if water for humidity. my digital thermometer reads 106 when I got home. it felt warmer. and I "cool" it down a little bit. Not sure If I have any good eggs, I just dont have a better lightbulb. I will just let it hatch and see what happens ! ( Jan. 28th.)

Why do you need a water wiggler? And how do you determine the internal egg temp?

You put the water wiggler in the incubator and put a temp probe down inside it (careful not to puncture it). It will give you a reading similar to the internal egg temp. Others have used and easter egg with hair gel inside, ziplock baggie of water wrapped up with rubber bands, Silly putty egg. The temp of your incubator will fluctuate if you have to open it to turn the eggs but the temp in the eggs shouldn't if you are quick. So with the water wiggler showing you the internal temp it keeps you from upping the incubator thermostat to compensate for the incubator being open for a bit.
