1) This hen is a Buff Orpington, around 11 months old, around 4 lbs. does not seem lighter or thinner than the other 6 hens.
2) No difference in behaviour from other hens.
3) I have only noticed the bald spots for a about a week.
4) No other birds exhibiting the same symptoms. I do notice that some have shorter feathers on back (I’m thinking from the roo). But theirs is not as sever as this one.
5) There is redness around/under the vent.
6) What happened, if anything that you know of, that may have caused the situation: I’m thinking it is a combination of the roo having her as a favourite and the other hens picking on her.
7) The bird has been drinking water and eating layer feed.
8) How does the poop look? Normal? Bloody? Runny? etc.
9) What has been the treatment you have administered so far? Just have examined the area and the chicken.
10 ) my intent on treating her is home care.
11.) it is a medium sized coup for roughly 8 chickens. Bedding consists of pine shavings.
