11 Rhode Island Reds and Black Hamburg rooster need home

I have to re-home my sweet little flock because I am going to care for my sick father across the country. The hens are sweet and one year old, and the rooster is gentle, quiet, and calm- a good boy! They are great layers, but also pets and used to being fussed over. I have to be gone too long to secure consistent help caring for them. I am located in Warren County, New Jersey.

Awwww, hope everything goes well for you, they are popular layers. I have 3 Australorp cockerels, and a buff orp also... hoping to find them a free home in Northern Michigan. As it turns out, someon has already claimed them! A nice retired lady with a beautiful farm who fusses over them just like I do! And she is taking my roo, who I was concerned about. "John Boy" is a gentle guy who loves his girls (and me- he once nagged me to get out of the rain!), and I wanted them to be together, so they will be. I live in NJ and my dad lives in Washington State- so its hard to know how long I will be away. Its not fair to leave them with so-so, cobbled together "care".

Thank you- I will spend time with my dad- he won't get well, but he'll be made as comfortable as can be!
