The eggs are from my Black Java flock. My birds are from The Museum of Science and Industry stock in cooperation with Garfield Farm Museum. Black Javas are a dual purpose heritage breed- slow maturing for meat, but a decent layer of medium brown eggs. Occasionally the hens will go broody- one of my twelve is sitting on some eggs now (extras for the incubator). My birds will occasionally produce an auburn or white chick. None of my auburn chicks have maintained the red in the adult plumage, but my younger rooster has gold tints on his wings. I have been selecting auburn chicks to keep in my breeding flock.
I plan to ship the eggs out on Monday, March 22, 2010 via USPS Priority Mail with delivery confirmation (so I can track the shipments progress...) As with any eggs handled by USPS, I cannot guarantee hatchability. I have good fertility and hatching rates in my own incubators.
If you have questions, please PM me. Thanks!
Lora
