I have a 12 day old chicken egg in my incubator...and this morning when I came to turn them one of them is cracked. I know that if it has anything coming out of the egg I am supposed to remove it so no kind of bacteria gets on the other eggs...but it is just the outer shell that is cracked...I turn them 3 times a day, I make sure they stay wet, and I have them at 100 degrees...this is my first set of eggs that I have ever incubated...so I want to make sure I am not doing anything wrong. Is the egg still ok to hatch? Is there anything I can do different? TIA

Is it still alive?
Did you or someone else drop it or did it roll into the side of the incubator too hard? It couldn't have cracked like that by itself.
The crack will have to be patched somehow if it's still alive, so bacteria doesn't contaminate the egg. I can't tell by the candling pic, but do you see any veins or movement?
Do you have any clear nail polish?

Yes I see some veins..it is hard to tell...but I did see some...no it wasn't droppped and it doesn't touch the sides of the incubator at all...it was fine when I turned them last night and I am the only one that deals with them...when I closed the lid it was fine

Yes I do have some clear nail polish...do I just put it on the crack...just one coat...sorry if that sounds kinda silly to ask...this is my first time!

Ok. Well, hopefully it'll be ok. Candle again in a couple days.
