12 week old SILKIE sexing!

This is my (I believe) about 12 week old Silkie. I know that they are notoriously difficult to sex. Thoughts?

Also, there is no sign of the puffy feathers coming in on his/her head...curious why not.

This doesn’t look like a full silkie, more of a mix since silkies don’t have straight combs or that body shape. But I think with it being 12 weeks and the comb remaining the deep mulberry color Instead of a redder color, I lean towards hen.

Not a full silkie. Yours has 4 toes, no crest and the legs aren't as heavily feathered. It's for sure a cross, gender... Hard to say since it's a mix, you may have to wait for egg/crow :'( sorry!

What an adorable little fluff! I agree with those before me-- this doesn't look full silkie. Looks like a girl to me-- at that age-- but wouldn't bet the farm until you have an idea what she is crossed with. Where did you get her? What other breeds were there? See if you can look into the mystery linage and you'll probably have better, clearer answers.

I agree with the part silkie, but that's a lot of wattles and comb on a chick. I'm leaning towards cockerel.
