Well, I named my pullet Joshie-Mae. I asked a question about starting layer feed according to the manufactors feed bag and web-site on starting my two pullets at 16 weeks. She told me to wait until 18 weeks. Then said the picture of the one on the right was not a pullet but a roo. Seller said she is a silkie mix.
I will let you look at pics of Joshie-Mae. Let me say that at 12 weeks old tomorrow Joshie Mae is not crowing. Joshie Mae is very timid and low of the pecking order in our flock. The 1st picture of the two together is what she saw. Below in replys will be a few more pictures.

Wish I had one close up of her head. She is just starting to get a light pink cone.

She's a pullet.
I don't feed layer feed. Never have, never will.
I keep my flock on Flock Raiser or equivalent from hatch to death. I keep two containers of oyster shell for free choice feeding and feed back as many of their egg shells as I can. The egg shells are more of a treat than anything.

Thank you
Your way of feeding is very helpful. Also thank you for your input on Joshie-Mae being a pullet. Picture here is of my other pullet named Julia Nightingale. She is protector of the lil brown red one.

Now my biggest next step is to go to the TSC for dewormer.
They have worms!
Get Safeguard liquid goat wormer. Dose them at 1/2 ml per bird. I put it on a piece of bread and take the bird somewhere where only she can eat the bread and feed it to her. Do this with each of them.
Repeat the process in 10 days.

Thank you so so much. Going to get it now.
