12 wk old chickens....can we switch food?

We have our chicks(10 of them) on chick starter crumbles, and man are they going through it. Can we switch them over to pellets?

Switching from crumbles to pellets shouldn't be a problem,unless the chicken are too small.


ETA: unless you mean layer pellets.

I go by the reference on my dumar feed bag which recommends starter/grower crumbles up to 10 weeks and then the grower/finisher from 10-18 weeks or when hens are laying when you would change them over to layer/flock feed. Mine will be 10 weeks this week so I am getting ready to switch them over. I have 12 at the moment and yes they are going through the crumbles like starving hounds. I can't wait till spring when they can hit the run and do some foraging to equal it out a bit.

It can be confusing, especially when you have a lot of people throwing different info at you. lol
